Visit #2 to Bruce

Here is the task for today's meeting!

The more uses that a group could come up for the sheet the better!

Bruce cardboard games

The gym was full of games that some of the grade 7 students had made using cardboard and duct tape. They were very creative and we had lots of fun.

Our first visit to Bruce for Destination Imagination

The winners of our group! Great team work.

The challenge was to build the best and biggest tower of cups stacked on top of each other! You had only string and an elastic. Some groups had a hard time getting into a rhythm but some excelled in this activity. It was a great first visit.

Update

The students will have a math quiz on Wednesday that checks to see how well they understand patterns and rules. For the quiz they must be able to draw the pattern, make a t-chart, describe the pattern, find the rule, and use the rule to solve a question.

Tonight the students had to finish their paragraph in French. They have to speak in front of the class. It will also be marked based on writing and speaking. They must have 10 sentences with at least 5 of the "ER" verbs used and conjugated. That means that they have to change the end of the verb so it goes with "Je" ( which means I). Here is a list of verbs to chose from...

Hope this helps. Students can also go online and use a translation website for English to French.

Tomorrow the students will be walking over to Bruce to start a 10 week program that runs every Tuesday 1:30 to 2:30. Students will be working with some of the grade 7 students on a program called Destination Imagination. This program gets kids thinking outside the box and learning to work well as a group. It should be a lot of fun.
